Mira Play or Redring Expressions 500S?

B&Q are doing the Mira at £99.99, supposed RRP was £229, but it's been discontinued, only has a single left hand water inlet and single top electric entry.(2 yr warranty)

Local Electrical suppliers are doing the Redring for £129, supposed RRP on the web is £237. Says it has top/bottom/back entries for water and electric. (3 yr warranty)

Never had a MIRA before, but have had a Redring which I got in 1997 and worked perfectly til 2009 when I moved I threw it out in working order.

My cheapskate side says the Mira, but if the other has top entries this could look much neater.

But what can anyone argue for or against either? Heard Triton should be avoided at all costs?!

Sorry to the moderators will put this in electrics uk too, maybe the issue is more electrical reliability than a water one!

I prefer mira over redring alday long.

Mira play has top, bottom, rear supply pipe access.

Mira play was only ever about £170 but a few over priced it at about £229.
But £100 not bad price.

I looked on the Mira site at the installation instructions and it looks pretty fixed at inlet from the bottom/left, cable in from the top/left.
Both will need to be surface mounted so want to keep pipework/conduit to the bare minimum.
The shower is to go on the opposite wall from a mains fed thermostatic shower(great when there's hot water but useless when there's not), and I can get both the electric and pipes down from the floor above(which is the bathroom, can make the necessary connection for cold from the never used bath, and hide the electrics easily).
My local B&Q though does have a Mira Play in stock at £189- only difference seems to be a white/chrome set up rather than white/white, and on the box it does say it has top/bottom/side entry points for both?

Yes the white/chrome has always been abit more more than the white version.

Oh it was just that the online manual said bottom entry only....
Anyway- I bought the MIRA, and it's identical to the £189 one, ie it can be plumbed from the top, and wired.
Result for £99! I've just drilled the hole from the bathroom above, neat and sweet, and it's working out fine...
(Worst part is paying for a spark to install a new CU and have to wire it up, no fun in DIY anymore! Had a huge long thread going in the electrics section as to why I shouldn't do this myself....)
