Can anyone help _ I'm at my wits end!

I've moved into my new house which has the Mira Reflex shower. It's a great shower and very pleasant to stand under but as the colder temps approach I've found it's not quite as hot as I'd like. I've depressed the overide button on the temperature handle and turned it fully anti-clockwise and it's nice, but not quite there.

The instruction booklet states that I can reset the temperature to my personal preference by pressing the override button and pulling the temperature handle off and changing it from that point. Except..it will not come off! I've pulled and pulled, I've sprayed with WD40, I've wriggled it - it's not budging. I even emailed Mira to make absolutely sure I wasn't being an idiot and there wasn't a hidden screw somewhere that I hadn't spotted. Their reply "You may need to use force".

I don't want to use so much force that I rip the whole thing away from the wall! I've uploaded a photo of the handle - is there a trick to this I'm missing? This is a pretty new shower, it was only installed at the beginning of this year and then the house was empty till I moved in at the beginning of August - surely it can't be seized up?

No there's no visible line at all. The manual that came with mine is slightly different and says just to pull the handle. I've attached a pic. Thanks for the suggestion though!
