wow that was a quick reply.

Tried that still runs hot and cold just the same. Strange thing also. as the water temp cycled the light in the bathroom seemed to flicker. almost as if there was a power drain then return to normal.

is the shower still going hot/cold ?
is the light ok now ? not flickering with shower ?

The things to check first are.

1 That the main valve coming into your house is fully open.

2 Then check that any valves on the line to the shower is fully open.

3 Check that the inlet filter is clean on the inlet pipe to the shower

4 check also around the tco in the centre of the heating can for any blackened wires etc.

yes the room light does seem to flicker when the shower goes hot then cold. what should i be getting as a reading from the tco using a meter. The cold water valve coming into the house is fully on. I will check the inlet valve on the shower tomorrow. Also the tco if you can post what it should be measuring across it's terminals.

the tco is just a cutout it should have power bothsides if the cutout was to operate it will loose power on the side feeding the elements.
look for mains power around 230v AC
you can't do a ohms test on a tco.

if the light is flickering check it not wired into the supply side of the pullcord etc and the pullcord has a bad connection first.

if you isolate the main fuse at the consumer box for the shower and the light won't work you know its wired into the shower fuse rather than the lighting circuit.

that didn't last long did it.

has the shower been working ok from when you fitted new tco ?
as in turning the temp up the shower was hot
and turning temp down shower would go to just cold ?
