Missus burnt carpet, can it be repaired?

Or does the entire carpet need to be replaced, as repair is not possible/will be noticible?

Carpet is short pyle

Hot iron caused damage.

It's in an open area ie not under a table, bed or closet

It can be repaired IF you have some carpet left over from when it was originally laid or you can get hold of a bit of carpet that is the same. Bear in mind though that carpets will fade or change colour slightly over time so even if an offcut of the original carpet is used it may not be the same colur and the patch would show. Plenty of videos on Youtube showing you how.
 
If the damage isn't too great, it can sometimes be reduced quite acceptably, by cutting off the matted blobs and evening up the pile with some nail scissors.
