The 'and' highlighted below, should NOT be included.. It does tend to invert the intent somewhat...
As in 'which does not include the provision of (i or ii) and (a ....).

Wiki said:
DESCRIPTIONS OF WORK WHERE NO BUILDING NOTICE OR DEPOSIT OF FULL PLANS REQUIRED
1. Work consisting of -
(a) replacing any fixed electrical equipment which does not include the provision of-
(i) any new fixed cabling; or

(ii) a consumer unit;"; and

(b) replacing a damaged cable for a single circuit only;

The 'and' is outside the speech marks which occur in the amendment to define additional or amended text and is part of an instruction :-

Statutory Instrument 2006 No. 652 said:
Amendment of Schedule 2B (descriptions of work where no building notice or deposit of full plans required)
22. In Schedule 2B[29]-

(a) in paragraph 1-

(i) for sub-paragraph (a) substitute-

" (a) replacing any fixed electrical equipment which does not include the provision of-

(i) any new fixed cabling; or

(ii) a consumer unit;";
and

(ii) at the end add-

" (e) installing or upgrading main or supplementary equipotential bonding;

(f) in heating or cooling systems-

(i) replacing control devices that utilise existing fixed control wiring or pneumatic pipes;

(ii) replacing a distribution system output device;

(iii) providing a valve or a pump;

(iv) providing a damper or a fan;

(g) in hot water service systems, providing a valve or a pump;

(h) replacing an external door (where the door together with its frame has not more than 50% of its internal face area glazed);

(i) in existing buildings other than dwellings, providing fixed internal lighting where no more than 100m² of the floor area of the building is to be served by the lighting.";

Hokay !

How on earth did we miss that? :D
Maybe next we'll get rid of the external glazed door too? ;)

The 'door' appears within the amended SI...

Statutory Instrument 2006 No. 652

amends

Statutory Instrument 2004 No. 3210.

Under Amendment of Schedule 2B (descriptions of work where no building notice or deposit of full plans required)

Sect 22. (a) (ii) (h) replacing an external door...

Unfortunately the 'door' rule appears after :-
...(g) in hot water service systems, providing a valve or a pump;

and before

...(i) in existing buildings other than dwellings, providing fixed internal lighting where no more than 100m² of the floor area of the building is to be served by the lighting.";

The inclusion of (h) although not relevant to electrickery, remains correct under the main heading and accurately reflects the wording of the amended SI.

If you are gonna do it right ...... Subjectively, as always in the old trickery..

:cool:
