what are you doing? there are various ways of doing these. you can buy a mitre box, a mitre saw which sits in a frame which cuts the mitres or you can hire excellant electrical saws, which if were doing a lot of joints i would recommend. tell me more and i see if i can explain better.
The joints I need to cut are to run skirting
around an opening between two rooms so the joints are pointing out and not into the wall
and only involves two sides of one opening
if that makes any sense
As it sounds as though this is a one off job I would recommend that you use a jigsaw set at a 45 degree angle rather than a mitre saw or block. These last two don't often accomodate high skirting boards.
