Hi there

I am about to do a basic bathroom refurbishment.

We currently have an older cheap electric shower above bathtub with low water pressure. The bathtub on the other hand has excellent water pressure.
I want to install a mixer shower instead off combi boiler.
The pipework is acccesible in a cupboard which also has a combi boiler.

The distance from pipework to boiler is about 40 cm or so.

I was wondering if I can use a plastic pushfit 22mm to 15 mm tee and then a flexible plactic pipe 30 cm to the mixer shower or will that impact water pressure?

1. If both hot and cold are off the combi boiler (which they usually are with a combi installed) 15 mm pipework to the shower should be fine.
2. If the existing pipework is 22 mm, then a 22 / 15 / 22 tee will be fine. It can be a push fit type tee.
3. For the run to the new shower, plastic pipe is OK, with any required inserts in place.
4. If by flexible you mean the metal braided flexible hoses often used to connect taps, I wouldn't use them, as:
4.1 They tend to be very narrow bore and could restrict the flow to the shower.
4.2 Unless you get very good quality ones, they aren't going to last forever. They can fail suddenly with disastrous results.
4.3 You would need additional pipe to connect to the 22 / 15 / 22 tees.

Thanks for this. That's great info.
