I have a screened in porch that needs work.

Luckily it only seems to be the posts (i.e. a vertical surface) that are extremely moldy.
I suspect the builder never primed them.

Please advise as to what is the best way to kill it and get rid of it.

I heard that bleach is really NOT the best so I was going to try and scrub them with a mix of 20 Mule Team Borax and hot water.
Then paint them with Zinsser Mold killing primer and finally a top coat of high-quality semi-gloss exterior paint.

Also, there are several cracks in a few of the posts. For that I figured sand it down, apply wood filler, prime and top-coat. Am I good with that approach?

Is the above good? Some people swear by Concrobium. Should I lightly sand the posts first?
