Ok this is an old post but an answer is probably worth it for anyone contemplating, attempting to replace their own shoes.
Always work safe!! Jack back of vehicle and safely support the vehicle on axle stands. Remove both wheels. Before starting any work on your back shoes examine and take a close look at the set up. Draw a diagram where all the clips and springs locate. Check that the wheel cylinders are not leaking. In fact if you are replacing the shoes change the cylinders now!!
Otherwise you fit new shoes and a week or so down the road the wheel cylinder starts to leak meaning the whole process will have to be done again.
And another set of new shoes. Do not attempt to use shoes that are contaminated with brake fluid.
When replacing the shoes if you forget where a certain spring goes and how it locates check the otherside. So always to one side at a time.
Easy once you know how!!!!!!!!!!! I think i have some pics on here somewhere not sure?
