The americans have invented a laser that doesnt emit light, it emits a pulse of DARK
The science is mind boggling, but essentially it uses something they call Quantum Dots, which when excited emit a huge pulse of coherent light, and the readsorb more light than they emit before the light has chance to move away (like 90 picoseconds). The result is a pulse of darkness that spreads out from the laser in a beam.
The use is for accurate timing and time keeping, but i got a mental image of a Two Ronnie type scenario where you are in a railway carriage, someone pulse the dark laser and all the ladies lose an item of clothing, exit al la Benny Hill..............
Speaking of which, this is pretty funny............
