Hi

I have had an offer on our house, small granite cottage with an old small ground floor extention for kitchen/bathroom, apex slate roof

All I know is they have been rejected by the mortgage people on the basis the ext does not conform to regs due to it being single skin
As said its small so no room to create an internal layer

what would be a quick way to fix this issue to please the surveyors

any info appreciated

get the sellers to knock it down and discount the property

I would assume that a granite cottage would not confirm to regs either.

A different lender our some common sense would be the answer

Knocking it down now is not an option to sell, maybe the buyers will do this anyway at some point

I would ask a different lender myself but they are first time buyers and listen to their solicitors advice

for me solicitors find fault/error rather than solve issues for their client

Im thinking they will be told to look elsehere

Been there over 40 years

block width - roughly 160-170mm so 6.5 inches

not actually sure if its two side by side which would mean 3-3.5 inches each

probably one at 6.5
