**Title should be MIST Coat

What’s everyone’s preference for mist coat on newly plastered walls and ceilings? Watered down emulsion or a pre made primer?

My go too has always been…

1st coat (mist) watered down cheap white emulsion like B&Qs own paint

2nd coat only slightly watered down Dulux Matt pure brilliant white

3rd coat full dulux matt pure brilliant white no water added

Further costs as above usually only a 4th and 5th touch ups

However heard a couple people swear by a primer undercoat like leyland but not watered down!

Not quite the same situation, but I have found Dulux sealer for plaster really good for sealing taped and jointed plasterboard.
I'm sure this will be frowned at, but a coat of this followed by some filler and another coat, will create a really strong and square corner on the edge of a plasterboard (...and allows the paper edge to be sanded without issue)!
...it's easy to use and can be painted straight over with emulsion.
