I've had a Vaillent ecotec 630 system boiler for three years. The water has been getting dirtier and I've discovered a leak. The plumber is recommending replacing the three port valve which he says is faulty with two two ports as the system has 12 radiators, although most of them are on stand by using thermostatic valves.
He says that there is too much restriction in a 22mm valve. Should I go for another three port, if so, stick to 22mm or increase to 28mm to reduce the restriction or two two ports? I prefer the three port system as there is always a circuit open for over pumping in the event of a valve failure.
He will also be removing the old feed and vent pipe from the system which had been capped.
What products should I use for cleaning out the system? I also have a Magnalow filter installed.
Your advice would be much appreciated
