I'm doing an extension of my own and I'm not sure about the rules for mounting heights for sockets and switches. I am a spark so PP is sorted.
If I do it as per the regs and class the installation as an extension to existing I can mount the sockets and switches at the same height as the rest of the installation, or in the worst case add it as a non conformance. However, I note on my approved plans there is a note, which reads, compliance with Part M, Switched sockets to be 450mm above FFL new light switches to 1200mm above FFL.
I know that applies to new build but have I got to have 2/3 of my place at one height and 1/3 at the new height?
Any advise would be appreciated as I'm a bit rusty on domestic wiring in relation to the building regs
