Mounting to uneven surface

Hello,

I want to replace our exterior light, The brickwork where it’s is going to go is uneven. Is there anything I can get to help mount the light to an uneven surface?

You could use neatly cut pieces of black conduit (varying the lengths as necessary) that will fit between the wall and the fitting.

My approach was to take a bit of wood, use my router to cut it into a circle and put a nice edge on it and then slap some dark brown wood treatment on it.

Drill the holes, fit rawl plugs and screws but add some mortar behind the fitting before tightening to create a plinth.
