Hi all
We have plans for an extension and a builder is nearly about to start work.
We are planning on laying a new plastic pipe under the extension where the public sewer runs thats not a problem really - we have the pipe clearance etc

The issue im a bit concerned about is that we have an existing manhole at the side of the house and this will need to be moved only slightly so we can get the most space from the new extension (its only an extra block width extra space really).....at present the existing manhole is only 150mm away from the old extension we have now

Now obviously we need the water companies approval for before we start

Its a 6 inch pipe we have btw....the builder said the while the water company will be fine with the build over sewer approval he said if you tell em that the manhole is being moved they can be a mare to deal with - and he said that the building regs guys will inspect it anyway as we are going

Hes not the only builder ive had to say the same thing really......but they arent the ones submitting forms to the utility comapny and im a bit worried that we arent planning on telling them we are moving it slightly

Wot do you guys think???
