I installed a Texecom R8Plus system a couple of years ago and it was reasonably easy to install. But now I have to move one of the sensors.

What exactly do I need to do though to prevent damage to the unit? Do I have to power down, and if so how do I do that and will I lose all of my settings?

Thank you.

You need to put it in engineer mode to disable the tamper dectection (if you installed the panel you should have the code and the installation manual).

The 12v supply to the dectector will be protected by a fuse inside the panel, if you remove this then it'll stop it from needing to replace should you short the power connections out, switch off the FCU before opening the panel though, the settings will be retained by the battery

Make sure you note the wiring colours before you disconnect anything, unless you have your original notes from when you installed the system.

When you're done, replace the fuse, the covers, FCU back on and bring it out of engineer mode
