Hi, I have a socket which i think is in a ring circuit (2 wires attached to each terminal 2l,2n,2e). The 2 wires come down the wall vertically to the socket. I want to move the socket 1 Metre to the left (As it'll be behind the sink otherwise ). So I think I probably have to replace the socket with a junction box. Cut a horizontal channel in the plaster board wall, then run both cables to the new location in trunking between the junction box and the new switch? I also want to add a switch next to this socket and run down vertically for a socket for use with a washing machine
1) Is this OK, what's the best way to wire this up?
2) Should I screw the trunking to wooden battens in the wall, if not what do I attach the cabling to?
3) If I need trunking is plastic OK?
