Hi,
Not sure which Forum this question should go in!

Looking at the wiring installed in my Y Plan heating system junction box, I notice there are lots of the same colour wires used which are black with red tags and faint number marking.

Is there a better choice of multicore colours cable available? Or, is multi-black the prefered choice by electricians wiring heating systems?

What is the max number of cores available for heating systems?

Thanks
Alan

Yes, Tower Flue Components market a multicore specifically designed for CH applications.

There are no real limits for multicore cabling.

In the event lighting industry, for instance, a 19 core 1.5mm 230v sheathed flex is readily available for Socapex applications, but all types of cables are produced for specialist applications. The limit is down to demand rather than technical or regulatory limitations.

If your interest is purely domestic CH wiring then the TFC products go up to six core.
