Multi Function Flue

Hi there,
I'm in the process of having a house built in Scotland and I'm installing a 5kW woodburning stove, which will need an outside air supply.
The stove will be sited near the living room window so taking the air intake pipe straight out the back won't work.
The initial solution we were thinking of would be to take the intake down into the floor and outside just below the window, which could have consequences if ever there was a lot of standing water just outside the house (risk of flooding the living room/blocking the air supply).

Does anyone know if it's possible to install a multi-function flue system, similar to that found on gas boilers, where there is an exhaust channel and an intake channel in (apparently) one pipe, going up through the roof?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/advice!

Never heard of a flue like that, do you definately need an air supply as the stove your fitting is 5 kw or are there different regs in Scotland?

Don't know if it's a requirement but there's the risk of the heat recovery system drawing combustion air/smoke into the room under certain conditions and the recommendation is to install direct air to the stove (a Burley Bradgate Firecube).
I'd rather not risk CO poisoning if at all possible...

Thanks lostinthenight.
Just thinking though, also don't want to flood the living room if routing the intake through the floor.

Could waterproofing the intake pipe & routing it to above ground level once outside could be an option?
Would there be an issue with high wind speeds with this setup? (We live in Orkney & winds can be pretty fierce)

Don't know about Scotland but in England the 'deemed to comply' standard is a sufficient air supply into the room, not ducted to the hearth. In your case if there's a radiator under the window then an airbrick behind the rad would comply (subject to flow rate) but of course would give you a potential draught from the airbrick to the woodburner. Again in England your local HETAS accredited installer would be able to advise on what will and won't work. Don't think a balanced flue would work- the exhaust temp from a woodburner is pretty high (and has to be for the thing to draw properly)
