Hello DIY-ers, my MVHR pumps the most foul air into every room of my apartment, usually just after I've poured water down the kitchen sink. There is a condensation drain on the MVHR, which runs down to plastic inline attachment, and I think this is a check valve. See photo.
My diagnosis: either the valve is stuck open, allowing drain smell to back up into the MVHR, or the check valve requires some water like an S-bend, and there is not enough condensation in the MVHR to keep the value wet.
If water is required for the valve, I could pour some into the MVHR.
If the valve is stuck open, it will have to be replaced, and I need to get it off. Unfortunatly, I can't get it off because the pipework is rigidly attached to the walls with Talon hinged pipe clips.
Is there a tool for removing a Talon hinged pipe clip? Or shall I Dremel them off?
