i have a classic LXFF & FF fanned flue 250 gas boiler in a cupboard next to the water tank, my son the genius he is switched off the two main power switches next to the CH an HW controls!

Now the boiler will not come on at all for HW but when i turn the stat up in the livingroom and switch the CH to on the pilot light fires up and starts the boiler. i have followed the relight process on the flap down casing at the bottom of the boiler and nothing? i hope this is a very simple problem that i just cant see because i have little knowledge of boilers, any help would be appreciated.

If the boiler has a flame in it at all, it's working. It doesn't have a permanent pilot.

So the faultalmost certainly lies with the programmer, or a motorised valve if you have two (ie the HW one).
Unless you have an electric immersion heater on. If that's heated the water, the boiler wouldn't come on to heat it as it's already hot.

thanks for replying chris, i really don't think there are any faults the power switches were turned off by accident and when i realised they had been i put them back on half an hour later. i initially thought the power going off to the stat maybe reset it or something? if i ran the hot water out and it was an immersion i presume the boiler will kick in and heat the water again?

thanks again for the reply
