Project to replace an existing built in wardrobe and small ensuite with a larger luxury wetroom. Budget: £2000
Currently on track!
The original plans, drawn in Sketchup. They haven’t changed too much from this, the cubby holes in the pillar on the right have changed side because I built additional boxing to have a concealed cistern for the toilet but otherwise it’s the same.
Work starts- the wardrobe was on the left behind the double doors, with a tiny shower cubicle behind it.
Most of the walls out. Horrible metal stud work.
The tiles were directly on the plaster paper, so it all came down. Was originally going to keep what I could but in the end decided to rip all the existing plaster out and start again.
All plaster gone, first bits of the new partition in. In the background you can see the electronic shower mixer unit.
Cheeky electrics shot
Underboarding for the shower tray
More plaster in, spots and extractor hose. Box for the cistern can be seen here.
Test fit of the countertop with the sink. Used mdf for the box and the shower partition for additional strength.
Late addition of a diverter to have the overhead rain shower as well as a hand-held, for cleaning those... hard to reach areas. And the dog.
