I have a problem with the machine draining the water. I have looked at the variety of postings and have tried tipping the machine up and opening door to drain out the water. Got the water out. Tried to run it again on a wash cycle with nothing in it and it is still holding the water at the end. I'm assuming the problem is the pump. As I say I have tipped up the machine to a 45 degree angle and took the back panel off. Reading the hotpoint user manual on servicecentre.co.uk it says that this particular model does not have a filter although some people have mentioned that the filter is inside the black hose underneath and i should try and detach this and clean it out. Which end do u detach, both or the one coming from the drum or the one coming from the pump. A bit sad that this has happened now over Christmas when i probably not going to be able to get hold of a pump to change and not sure how to anyway. Got no cash to get an engineer, thats why i wanted to try my best to do it myself.
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thankyou

Thanks breezer, located the filter and was full of lots of rubbish, curtain hooks etc. Cleaned it out just in the process of running another cycle now and it sounds like the machine is draining, lots of positive gurgling noises down the stand pipe. Hopelfully panic over. Fingers crossed ah! If not might be a case of transporting another washing machine from my dads.
cheers, good crimbo to u.
