My mate Yusuf, sent me some pics few days back.

He claimed something outrageous, which I did not believe, till I looked it up for myself...lmao...he was telling the truth!

OK, in simple terms, in his email, he goes..."look what's facing Mecca!"

He used Google Earth, so i tried it out on there myself too!

That was odd, but more so was when he said, he was using Google earth to find the direction Of Mecca for his new house, and started to play around with it;
the statues were odd, but the bit that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, was when he sent me a picture of a Church, in his town in Blackburn, which also faces Mecca! :S

You should try it out...Google earth brings up some interesting stuff!

i saw something on tv that stated that most churches were built along east/west lines so its not that big a surprise and unlike a person a church has 4 sides, so which is the facing bit?

Nothing more than coincidence really. From the UK Mecca must be roughly south east so anything built with a SE face could be said to be facing Mecca. Try it to see how many buildings or whatever face towards the north pole thus proving Santa Claus exsists or maybe see how many face New York or Moscow.
Also in the fourth picture posted the facing direction and the direction of Mecca look to me to be at least 10* out of line with each other.

So what exactly IS his point then? One side of a four sided building faces somewhere else, meaningless "nothing more nothing less". Hardly something to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up is it?

Most Christian churches/cathedrals have the altar end facing east, the choir/nave(long bit of the cross shape, rich and famous in the choir near the front, peasants in the cheap seats behind) in west direction and the transepts facing N/S...

There is a cul-de-sac near by to where I live. It is not the usual 2 sided type with the far end blocked but a 3 sided area with a grassed central area. Add to this the road that runs past this cul-de-sac also has houses facing into the cul-de-sac then this means that at least 25% of these houses MAY be facing Mecca whilst 75% MAY NOT be facing Mecca. I say MAY because I can't be bothered to look up on Google if they are actually 'off-set' from the E/W-N/S axis.
