hi i have a renault megane Y749 RBP i have a light that doesnt come on when first driving but 100 yards down the road it comes on and flashes but only whilst driving i have looked in my manuel which says its to do with warning light for monitoring exhaust gas my boss plugged in a diagnostic and because the light had gone off it wont diagnose ??????

I'm wondering if this car has the F9Q 1.9 Diesel engine?
These don't have a DPF but were very prone to EGR issues - best cured by blanking them off.
I don't think this car is OBD2 compliant either, so it's dedicated Renault diagnostics for this one.

Ah right......the good old days when the Renault catalytic converter started to dismantle itself
The trick there was to run the car with the lambda sensor removed and see if it behaved!
