Evening,
I've just laid some 3:1 sharp sand and cement screed on a small area of my kitchen floor and it looks different to how I expected.
From the YouTube videos I watched it's more plain in texture and easy to feather, but mine seems very gritty with a look of concrete. Both the sand (Tarmac) and cement (Blue Circle Mastercrete) were bought new yesterday.
The lesson I followed advised to keep it fairly dry in mix so I added some water but not too much. I was able to shape the mix in my hand and the consistency seemed right before using it.
I'm not overly bothered about the smooth finish as it will be covered but I'm still concerned I've done something wrong which could turn into a weak mess.
