My TV wont remember the tuned channels

Hi
I have a Pioneer Plasma TV
I lost the remote so have bought a replacement
I tuned my tv using the new remote and all the channels are present through the built in Freeview, However when i turn the tv off and go back and turn it on again the next day I have to go through the retuning process to get any channels ?
Can anyone tell me how i can "Save " the channels ...?...... Many Thanks.

Did it work with the old remote? Are you turning it off at the on/off switch or putting it in standby? I didn't know Pioneer made TVs so I'm guessing it's quite old?

yes the old remote was ok
and i have tried it on standby and off at the mains, both times it needed re tuning

Maybe you must press "Save" or "Exit" or whatever button performs that function?
