I'm thinking of registering with either mybuilder.com or ratedpeople.com to generate a few more enquiries.

Has anybody here used sites such as these, did you find them of any use?

Scroll down this forum this has been discussed before.....don't pay these leeches for leads!

Try freeindex.co.uk

Nothing wrong with taking a cut if you pass someone a job, but paying just to get a potential client's contact details... no thanks. Spend the money on your own website instead.

Rated people aint worth a ****! Nothing but timewasters. I advertised on Trustatrader and have had a fair few enquiries. About £650 for the year.

I am really surprised to hear that. I thought that they had a very good reputation. What do you mean by advertised. Did you list yourself in their directory and started to receiving leads from them.

It is a good think that you did not try ServiceMagic as I have heard that is even worse. The quality of leads is not good at all.

Love all these sites, they bring in a bit of work now and then.

Had a customer call me on Saturday to quote to fit a handrail on her stairs as hubby was having problems. Did a visit and quoted £80 inc materials, - 2 hours work.

She told me she had been on rated people and had several quotes, the smallest being £250.

Will be doing the job on Wednesday.
