Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me identify what kind of pipe this is in the photos. I removed the coving and found this pipe which wraps 2 external walls and ends at the chimney breast. The property is a GF flat in a converted Victorian villa.

I am hoping to remove the pipe but want to know it's safe before I do.

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Looks like an old lead gas or water pipe. Obviously disused, because the end is dangling down in your first photo. If the end is open/unsealed, you can remove it completely, otherwise seek advise.

I have numerous lead gas pipes running buried, vertically up the walls in my Victorian terrace.
They were for wall mounted gas lamps.
It gave me a bit of a surprise when I first found one, but have found them all to be crimped off from the gas supply (so far !).
