Hi Chaps,

I am about to embark on some natural stone tiling (travertine - not honed and filed). I have been doing R&D on here etc. and think I have a fair idea of what I need to do. A few things I am not clear on and was looking for advice.

1. I read somewhere to fit the WPB Ply to lay it in large sheets, with long joints running at 90 degrees to the long joints of your existing boards/ sheets? not sure exactly what this means or the reason why?

2. Also PVA or not to PVA, can you recommend on what I should use as a safe rule of thumb?

3. When screwing down ply, should I screw through on to lying wood and into joists or simply screw to underlying wood?

Thanks

Is this job in a bathroom /wet area ?

you can have the ply cut down to 2/3 sections an then screw them to the joists 200 centres ,strengthen the joists with noggins then give it all a good soaking in wood preservative , lay ply then tile
hope this helps ;)
