i should say alamost any that has alarm that has a date and time stamped log.

but whats the point? you come home find out it want off at say 11:30 what are you going to do about it?

Why not get a camera with DVR (to record) that way you can see what happens.

Oh and to be reliable external beams should be "double banked" (two sets, one above the other, with about 320cm in between and Rx and Tx opposite

eg

Tx..................................Rx

Rx..................................Tx

i have a dvr and cctv but i like to leave it recording 24/7. i could use the motion detector on that but theres a lot ofd big trees in the garden. it would be easy to check thre time on the dvr if its logged and the beam will be much more secure than the dvr motion detection.

what would be the cheapest panel to use? and how many events will it log i think i would want atleast 15/20 available.

As breezer suggested, conect the Rx contacts to the alarm input of the DVR, you will then be able to quckly search for alarm events, (that is of course if the DVR has alarm inputs)

On most DVR's you can have them continually record AND use the alarm inputs to tag the timeline.
