My Saunier Duval Thema F23E boiler manual says it can be run without the need for a room thermostat. I have TRV's on all rads. Is there any advantage to adding a room thermostat? Any real problems if I leave it as it is?

Without a room stat, even though your TRVs have all shut down, your boiler will still be firing up and heating the pipework for no good reason. A room 'stat is a cheap way of saving a few bob

The manual seems to indicate that the boiler will work at maximum efficiency ith a room thermostat but will work without it [providing the wire link is left in place across the terminals that would otherwise be used to connect the room thermostat]. I was hoping this meant that the boiler was able to sense when there was no demand from any rads and switch off?

If I do have to fit one anyone familiar enough with this make/ model to tell me how to wire up a basic room stat?

Surely your boiler manual would have a wiring diagram.

A stat will save you £££ as the boiler will only fire when heat is needed. I see a lot of houses without a stat. Spend £, Save £££
