Hi all,
I have an issue at one of my family members houses, the thermostat is located in the smallest bedroom ( approx 2m sq) in the house which belongs to their 6 year old. This room also has a large radiator (approx 1200mm width) with 10mm pipework and a twin entry valve without TRV.
They complain that they either have to have the radiator off and his room is freezing, or on and he is boiling at night (goes to bed 7pm so heating needs to be on past this time).
I am wondering what the best (and simplest) course of action is, my first thought is that ideally that rad needs a TRV to stop the room getting too hot, and the thermostat needs to be moved. The other side of the wall from the thermostat is the hallway so for an easy shift I am thinking of putting it the other side of the wall. Then with regards to the radiator, I am looking at a small 300x600 radiator (1100 BTU) with a TRV. I would extend the existing 10mm pipework using solder ring fittings.
Does this sound like the best move?
