Posted this on another section and have been told to ask here -
Is there a decent (powerful) fan out there that can effectively stop backdrafts and does not have noisy flaps?
I have a kitchen fan and a bathroom fan that are both on west facing walls. There are dirctly facing strong westerly winds so there is a fair amount of drafts that come in. I've tried fitting all manner of cowls and flaps and they just end up flapping, making lots of noise and allowing drafts in.
What do you guys think is the most effective fan/backdraft sytem that will provide good extraction, no backdraft and no noisy flaps. Is there something that has an electronic shutter of some sort that only opens when powered on?
heard mention of "iris shutters" - anyone know about these?
