Hello

I’m pretty sure that the White part in the enclosed picture is toasted and needs replacement.

What should I look for online? Can I buy just that part or do I have to buy the whole lamp ?

Thank you in advance

Thank you gentlemen

Out of curiosity - How can I tell which amps I need and what’s the difference between 5A and 10A and what are they for ?

Ah, how to tell which you need ...
Well if you had a longer intact section then you'd be able to read - with the aid of a microscope, light from the right angle, a following wind , and a 'r" in the month  - the rating moulded into the plastic. Those of us with a bit of experience can look at them and just tell from the size.
Possibly the easiest way would be to remove the existing one and take it with you when shopping for another. Any electrical factor/wholesaler (such as TLC)will have various sizes in stock - as will the likes of Homebase and B&Q (BAS, keep quiet !) but don't ask for expert advice from these as the staff generally don't have such knowledge (just compare for yourself with what's on the shelf).

If you give a more localised position than just "London" then I'm sure someone here would be able to suggest a wholesaler reasonably local to you.

EDIT: Seems to be a common problem. Late father in law had several lights out in his kitchen, all with burned out connectors like this.

I've uploaded a closer look of the part.

I went to Homebase and they said they only have 380V or 450V and mine (as you can see from the image).

Would this still work for me if I buy say the 380V?

I'm really confused what to buy so if anyone can point me in the exact correct item that'll be great
