Hi all,

I added a new rad to our kitchen and I can't get any hot water to it.

Sorry for the poor diagram but the length of pipe to kitchen rad is about 9 metres.
I have tried to balance the best I can with no thermometer.
room 1 is red hot and the LS is open but about 1/8th of a turn, room 2 is about 3/8ths hall way to even get a bit of warm through the return pipe I have had to open it fully, so now living room is full open and there is a massive difference (by feel)
and the kitchen will not even get warm water, in the fact the pip to the kitchen is not even getting any from the t junction.
Both valves are fully open and rad is bled.

Where have I gone wrong? is the run just too long to the kitchen rad?

cheers all

Also, to clarify, some guide say start with rad nearest the boiler, not for me that would be living room rad as we have back boiler but I presume it means nearest the router of boiler, ie. room1 from the tank?

turn off all radiators except the new one...

when balancing turn radiator off completely and open lockshield until heat comes just through, allow system to warm and increase flow to any which are struggling.. take your time and do it little by little, it takes much longer for a rad to cool down than it does to heat up.

possibly its airlocked, close one side of the rad and bleed. repeat on the other... if there is a lack of pressure on one side the concentrate there until the air comes out or the pressure increases..

have only just turned hallway and living room off and warm water is now getting to kitchen........?

somewhere near the 3 port valve there will be a pipe joining the flow and return, it will have a valve on it.

nope, nothing up there, the flow goes through a sort of air trap type thing (I think) before it gets to the pump and tank
