Need to remove paint from brickwork

Hi,

The previous owner has splashed paint on the brickwork of my garage when painting the door and old drain pipe.....this paint has been there for years by the looks of it. A local builders merchants recommended brick acid which i've tried but this hasn't shifted it at all.......does anyone have any other suggestions on what might remove the paint please ?

Wire brush.

the trouble with any chemical removers is that they may make it soak into the brickwork more.

Cheers for the reply JohnD but a wire brush believe it or not goes no where near it.
