NEFF Dishwasher - fills, but will not cycle

We have a problem with our NEFF built-in dishwasher (cold water feed only).

It will fill with water, and then cuts out. The program does not reach the point where detergent is opened/used.

Interrupting the programme as per the instructions does drain the dishwasher successfully, so unlikely to be the pump.

I have also tried manually adding hot water and running on 30C cycle, but still nothing.

Any other suggestions?
