Sceanario:
I live in a mid terraced house with an entry passage between me and the house below. The timber guttering directly above the entry is badly leaking; because of the slope of the concrete at ground level, the water pools on my side and is making the wall at the front corner of the house damp.
The problem is that because my neighbour's house includes the section directly above the entry, the leak is technically on her property so its out of my control. I have tried encouraging her to fix this but basically she is not interested. A mate has also been up there and tried painting the timber with roofing paint to 'bodge' it - did not work. There is no fallpipe at the front of my house - my roofwater (and from the house above me) has to flow across her guttering to a fallpipe further along.
What can I do without making relations with her difficult? If she refuses to replace her guttering, I am tempted to get mine replaced and just ask them to do the section of her house above the entry (she probably wouldn't notice if I do this when she's not around).
Any advice much appreciated!
