Neighbours have told us they will build a loft conversion and the builder wants to remove the shared chimney stack and if we object. As we will be removing the chimney breasts some time later we didn't object.
They have now started building the loft and I'm concerned about how close it is to the ridge line. The cheek without the tiles and finished roof is touching the side of the ridge tiles. They have now removed the entire ridge tiles and some tiles on my side. This makes me think they will be building the rafters, tiles and roof on the boundary line.
I've raised this with the builder and he has assured me that it will not cross their boundary ( I presume it refers to half of the ridge).
I'm not thinking to do a similar conversion yet but may do in the future. My main concern is whether this is encroachment or not? I don't want to disadvantage my property or it's sellability in the future.
I asked the builder how I would tile the side of my dormer in the future and he said that it's done via hung tile method ( I don't know what this).also I feel he is just lying.
