Hello
I intend to replace a broken ballast in a light fitting, however, the new ballast has only 6 terminal points, where as the old has 8. Pls advise.
The way the old one is wired is on the box!
The way the new one is wired is also on the box!
Obviously it will be slightly different as you'll need to connect two wires from the old ballast together. You can pick which ones, but 4&5 would look suitable candidates. Have another look at both. It's not difficult.
The two diagrams are correct and are the same, but your new device shows that two of the terminals on the bulb are now connected together. So:
Old = New
1 = 4
2 = 5
3 = 6
4 = >> Join the two bulbs together with their
5 = >> two wires with a connector (or at the bulbs).
6 = 7
7 = 8 < Typo corrected
8 = 9
