Hi
New Boiler installation, first the return and output were plumbed together so boiler heated only itsself, now after a return visit from the heating engineer it seems to sort of work but ....

On trying to bleed the radiators they get hot at the top and cool at the bottom, which wasnt the case before this work was done, this makes bleeding them tricky.

I turned on a radiator with the valve and held the pipe under the valve to see it it got hot, it didnt, the radiator did. so the heat came from the return valve on the other end

If you dont look closely it seems to work, but can take ages to heat the rads so its not good.
What do you think?

g.day mate.

flow and return is mixed up. easily fixed by the 'heating engineer'

Dont like the sound of this guy, has he filled in your Benchmark log book which came with the boiler, has he used a cleanser, what rust inhibiotor has he used, how come he didn't notice the rads not working when he balanced the system to get the correct temp difference across the flow and return, has he fitted it all to Part L building regs, t/valves, room stat, cylinder stat ??????????
