Just paid £290 for a carpet of 14 sq/m, with everything in.. Underlay, carpet edge tacks and alluminium back plate.. all fitted.

Dont think thats bad but my missus is going mad on paying too much. £7.60 sq/m and underlay was £90.00

Any comments so can feel happy with a good deal.

Err, you get what you pay for £7.60 a square metre is very cheap, I paid over £30 a square metre for some of mine.

And I bet Eddie, yours will last longer?
290 for 14 = 20.71 per sq m, not bad, but quality?

sorry i must state i did get a 60% discount. some offer on from carpetright. RRP was £18.99

Well they are about 10 years old, and looking back at the receipt one carpet was over £40 a square meter. The obvious thing here is that you MUST have decent underlay on a carpet if you want any longevity. Must confess however I don't really like carpets, seems a bit silly that due to "fashion" your perfectly good expensive hard wearing carpet may well have to be slung after only a few years on the orders of "she who must be obeyed"

Eddie M..............chuck them my way if you don`t want them  F for Frugal is my name ;) My old dad used to decorate "toffs" houses.someone gave him some 3ft. strip Axminster once-chuckout....and we got over 15 years use as a staircarpet out of it. and that was in 2 houses
