Can anyone tell me if the Logic Combi esp1 35 boiler is equipped with PVC insulated power cable? or is this par for the course these days?

Reason for asking is when looking underneath my boiler I noticed that the white power cable from inside of wall to boiler was touching the black switch return pipe and I'm wondering if this is safe?

I've since positioned it so that it ain't touching the hot pipe, but would like to know if I require to have someone look at it.

OK, so found the manual and boiler comes with a 3 core pvc insulated cable, so what would be the best practice to ensure the cable won't be touching any hot pipes?

Routing of the cable to make sure it’s not touching, however most wiring and in the manual will be heat resistant.

So arrow 1 shows where I've placed the cable so it pushes it away from bottom of the CH return pipe, and arrow 2 shows what I've used to push the side edge of the cable away. There's not much cable to play around with unfortunately, I suppose if I were to pull down the black valve it would make it easier to pull the whole cable up and somehow have it against the side of the white frame, this would take away the need for the swab being used.

I take it pulling that black valve for this then putting it back where it was originally shouldn't cause any problems.

Moving the black handle opens and closes the valve, yours looks closed, I’d re-open it. As for the cable, it should be fine touching any pipe. Can you not just leave it dangling? There’s not much to worry about there.

The black valve is pointing directly upwards, are you saying moving the valve towards me is opening it? It's been like this for 18 months, what does opening and closing it do exactly?

I've read that if the valve is parallel to the pipe then it's open, but going by my pic is it the pipe facing the boiler or the wall that they are referring to?

In other words is the black valve pointing to an open position?

Is this black valve in an open or closed position?

The black valve has been like this since installation, what affect would it do if I were to change its position?

My apologies, I’m not ignoring you. It’s fine the way it is, I was confusing myself. This is a screenshot taken from the ideal manual for that boiler. If you did turn it the other way, you’d be stopping the flow of water around your heating system.

That's ok.
So I suppose it wouldn't do it any harm pushing the value back to me allowing me to move the cable so that it dangles away from the pipe as that pipe does get very hot, then putting the valve back in that open position?

Does it matter which direction the valve is pointing to for it to be in the open position? What I mean is if it was pointing in the direction of the wall?

Yes it does matter, as it would be turning the flow off. No harm in moving it so you can sort your cable, but needs to be the way it was in first photo.

Open is if its in the direction of the pipe, so does it matter if its the boiler or wall direction given that the pipe goes upwards from being straight from the wall.

What I meant was say I pointed the valve to the wall direction as that too would be parallel to the same pipe flow would it not?
