Looking for the above.

There are two Which? Best buys in the size I want.

DeLonghi Brilliante 23l Combination Microwave.

Model: C9P022DT S00F

Morphy Richards Combination Microwave.

Model: AC9P022AP S00F

Looking up DeLonghi microwaves, the internet says it is a brand manufactured, distributed and sold by Argos.

I cannot find a similar declaration for MR, but when I Google MR microwaves, only Argos hits come up.

Does anyone know if both are made by the same firm?

If they look exactlythe same and spec's the same they probably are the same.

;) We are on our 2nd Sharp large size. The first one was still working when we dumped it. We don't use the slide in shelves on the more recent one. Reason for choice - takes stuff that would normally need a stove oven,

The Argos own brands are noted for their quality.

Not in a good way.

Panasonic are particularly good. I like quite a big combi, that can take a dinner plate or serving dish.

Even just used as an extra fan oven, they are handy for heating or keeping warm.

We've had this one a good few years now. I think it’s been replaced by a newer version now. Almost exclusively used as a microwave although I think I once did some cheese on toast in there!

I got my Ma a Sharp microwave in the 80s. Lasted ages. Until something like 2010. It only got replaced because someone broke in and nicked it.

Quite funny really....running off with something of that size and weight. It was huge!

Our 1st one was in the 80's. It went because most of the inside was brown. ;) We clean the new one more often and have gained a bread proving temperature. This one was bought a good while ago.

I've also got the Panasonic combi, it's a great bit of kit. NN-CT55.

Pizza's cook well, breaded fish etc.

Including these two brands?
Yes, Argos bought the rights to stick these names on certain products to give a spurious sense of quality.

You can still buy genuine de Longhi coffee machines, for example, made by the real company. If you look on their own website, you will find plenty of coffee machines, but not chinese microwaves.

Nor in less downmarket retailers

When we used to fit gas cookers with built in microwave we used to have to check that they were not leaking microwaves as part of the commissioning procedure.
Microwave ovens used to be banned in Russia
