I'm doing a DIY loft conversion and am getting round to doing the dormers. I have a few questions and would appreciate it if someone could help.
1.Is it the same breather membrane for the roof and sides?
2.Should I wrap the membrane into the window aperture?
3.Is the membrane held on by counter battens alone -ie- no extra nails.
4.The counter batten nearest to the side of the dormer for the existing roof will be nailed to the sarking board as there will be no rafter under it. The nearest rafter will be approv 150mm. Is this OK?
5.What is the minimum width for the valley where the dormer cheeks meet the existing roof?
6.I'm getting a local lead sheeter to weld the dormer aprons and the bottom corners for the windows but I'll lay the lead in the easier places.
How often do I nail the lead.
thanks in advance
