Hi we have got planning permission to change an old workshop into a residential property now as I understand the process for the new floor (currently old uneven flagstones) to comply with current regs is a layer of hardcore followed by sand followed by DPC followed by concrete then insulation then screed, my question is what kind of sand do I use and can I use the huge pile of whole bricks I've got from removing the chimney and breasts as hardcore? Any help would be most appreciated, thanks, Alan
