Not sure if I should have posted this in the Electrics sub-forum - feel free to move if needed.
I called an alarm engineer to install a new home alarm system. This was installed in the under-stairs cupboard, near the house's consumer unit.
To get power inside the cupboard, the engineer opened up the consumer unit, located the MCB for the downstairs socket ring circuits (RCD protected) and added a new spur. This spur has been connected to an external unswitched fuse box with a 3A fuse, and then into the alarm box.
My question is this: Should I have been provided with a minor works certificate or something similar for this change? Do alarm engineers typically do that?
