Hey all,
Replaced the gasket on my UPVC front door today. Used:
https://www.toolstation.com/stormguard-upvc-universal-seal/p57199
To do the job as it seemed the most like what had been on the door previously, however the current seal is so frayed/hardened/broken it was hard to tell exactly.
Went on absolutely fine. Door needed a firm push to close and lift the handle which I expected as the current gasket had been absolutely flat, particularly on the bottom of the door and this was nice and spongy.
However I found when unlocking and trying to open the door, that it seemed to be sticking on the bottom only and I struggled to open it. Found lifting the handle quite forcibly seemed to release it.
I'm an absolute DIY novice - can anyone advise how I can alleviate the problem? Do I need to get a thinner gasket?
Can send photo's of the door if needed.
